Evelien Wajer (1989) is a Rotterdam based photographer.
During her studies at the University of Amsterdam, she focused on researching the effects of the ‘point of view’ on the ability of people to understand and learn from still and moving images. Her interest in visual communication design never really faded. After finishing her masters in Persuasive Communication, she started to work at Unilever, but she soon realised that she wanted to be an image-maker herself. To continue with her artistic ambitions, she enrolled in a course at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam and started to work as a freelance photographer.
“I’m most passionate about portrait photography, as I find the process of connecting and collaborating so rewarding. Having a portrait taken is not something people do everyday, so I always try to make people feel at ease. Besides portrait work, I am also available for food/restaurant and business photography. I always strive for the best lighting that fits the look and feel of the project, whether I’m working on location or in my studio in Rotterdam.”
“As people are becoming more and more visually oriented, the importance of professional photography will surely become even bigger.
